As everyone who has heard him and followed his career knows, Mike Auldridge is one of the super-greats. He is perhaps best known for his resophonic guitar work with the Seldom Scene, as well as his solo projects and session work over the last 35 years. Mike is equally accomplished on non-pedal steel. Here he is with a 6-string SuperSlide with optional pearl fret markers. Mike has been evaluating the 6 string and is about to convert it to an 8 string. Mike reports that the 6 string is "the best sounding lap steel on the market today, with awesome sustain and tone. The workmanship and resulting stability is superb." We suspect he has an eye on the double 8, which would also well suit a player of his remarkable talents. . . We were right. . . see below. . . |
