The following spotlights some who are playing the SuperSlide.  (Listings are in alphabetical order.)

Mike Auldridge

As everyone who has heard him and followed his career knows, Mike Auldridge is one of the super-greats. He is perhaps best known for his resophonic guitar work with the Seldom Scene, as well as his solo projects and session work over the last 35 years. Mike is equally accomplished on non-pedal steel. Here he is with a 6-string SuperSlide with optional pearl fret markers. Mike has been evaluating the 6 string and is about to convert it to an 8 string.

Mike reports that the 6 string is "the best sounding lap steel on the market today, with awesome sustain and tone. The workmanship and resulting stability is superb."

We suspect he has an eye on the double 8, which would also well suit a player of his remarkable talents. . .

We were right. . . see below. . .

Mike has now added a Mystic Blue Double-8 SuperSlide and converted his original 6-string SuperSlide into a 12 string .

Randy Beavers

Randy Beavers is shown here performing during the Nashville Slide-Off gathering with his Sunburst SuperSlide. Randy is an extremely talented and respected musician and is accomplished on both pedal and non-pedal steels. Randy makes his home in the Nashville area where he is in demand as a session player. His latest CD, “Unspoken Word,” is evidence of his exceptional skill.

After having some time to play the SuperSlide, Randy says, “the MSA SuperSlide is the highest quality instrument of this type I've ever seen. Everything from the tone, sustain, design and finish are unequaled. I believe the SuperSlide will hold a big part of the future for steel guitar.”

Jeff Kauffman

Jeff Kauffman is house guitarist for the famous Lakepointe megachurch in Rockwall, Texas. Jeff plays every week for audiences that often exceed 10,000.

Here Jeff is shown playing his 6-string SuperSlide.  Notice that Jeff is using a flat pick and has the SuperSlide mounted on a Freedom Stand.

Bobbe Seymour

Bobbe Seymour, one of the authentic masters of pedal and non-pedal steel, is shown with a double 8 he played during the Nashville Slide-Off he hosted in early July. It’s hard to imagine there are any steelers who haven’t met or heard Bobbe and many have enjoyed visiting him at his Steel Guitar Nashville in Hendersonville, Tennessee, where he carries a wide variety of products for pedal and non-pedal steelers including the MSA SuperSlide. MSA is proud to have such a legendary member of the steel community as a good friend and SuperSlide dealer.

Bobbe tells us, in his opinion, "the SuperSlide is the Star of my useable playing collection because of its tone, weight, precision, beauty and just plain playability! It seems to just easily pull the notes out of my fingers! Smooth and rich. Do I love this great guitar?  You bet I do.”
